Taima-Taima
A magical, ancestral land, echoing an almost unimaginable past, when great unknown creatures shook the earth and man began to carve his path to the future.
In Venezuela, where my roots lie, rests a land almost unknown, whose landscapes and energy hold traces of history and prehistory. My work, an homage to this astonishing land, becomes a vessel of natural testimonies and the earliest signs of civilization, where man finds himself reflected in the abstraction and stylization of forms. It is a poetic attempt to rescue, from the depths of a forgotten world, fragments of memory, just as the humble welcome sign of that extraordinary Venezuelan natural park declares:
“A magical and ancestral territory, evoking a past almost unimaginable, when great and unknown creatures shook the earth with their steps, and humankind began to carve its path toward the future.”
My recipe: Sterling silver 925, balsamic vinegar oxidations, leather, patinas.
